uncountable nouns
Everyone knows that there are two types of nouns in the English language, which are countable and uncountable. Names that are counted are simple, Example one apple, four cars, two dogs…. The noun becomes plural if it is more than one, and we can use a, an when talking about only one name
an apple, a book, a door, an orange
But the uncountable nouns, the matter is completely different because they cannot be counted by countable and usually the plural form is not used, for example:
Tea, sugar, water, air, rice knowledge, money, research, fear, love
There are also some words that can be counted in some other languages and cannot be counted in English such as accommodation, advice, baggage, behavior, bread, furniture, information, luggage, news, progress, traffic, travel, trouble, weather, work, and usually asking about it. How much?
And a common mistake, some people may use words to express the uncountable nouns are not correct, but we may use some words to denote the uncountable nouns Example(some, a lot of, much, a bit of, a great deal of, a piece of, a little
- we have little money
- ?How much rice do you want
